Diss Woodturning Club is a small, friendly group, including ladies and teenagers, who enjoy woodturning as a hobby. Members come from throughout the south Norfolk and north/west Suffolk areas. The club meets in Redgrave, in a well-equipped workshop on the last Friday of each month, starting at 7.30pm. The workshop is heated and equipped with closed circuit TV so that everybody can clearly see the demonstration.
Most meetings comprise an exhibition by a visiting professional demonstrator showing various techniques and cover all ranges of ability from complete beginners to semi-professional. We also run a series of workshops where individuals can gain hands on experience of new techniques or skills using the clubs lathes whilst being mentored by an experienced turner. Finally, we also have purely social events and run occasional visits to other woodturning related events.
We would be delighted to welcome anybody who would like to try this hobby. There is no cost for taster sessions and a warm welcome will await you. If you are interested, please contact Chris Davies on 01379 898236 who will provide you with instructions on how to find us, or answer any questions you may have.
